Tamed Magenta Zones

030AW_wildtamedWell I signed this little one yesterday after a few hours of tweaking. Title ‘Tamed Magenta Zones‘, I think this little piece has given me a pathway to working with organic shapes to talk about the vegetation zones and cow poo paddocks and how they intersect in reality and on canvas.

Magenta is the colour of ‘high care’ zones on property owners management maps. But I’ve just discovered a map produced by the Queensland Herbarium and they produce a biodiversity map and mark ‘endangered’ as purple. Below is the map of the place I’m visiting. The long strip of purple near the red dot (1192) is actually Dry Rainforest housing those lovely bottle trees, and the grass trees fringe around all of that in the blue area.
